most standing committee meetings will be cancelled

 

Monday, October 29

Committee of the Whole – 9:30 a.m.

Committee members are scheduled to discuss and possibly act on:

·        A motion requesting the executive, in collaboration with the departments of public health and community and human services, and a community stakeholder panel informed by local and national expertise, to develop and submit for council review and approval a plan for an accountable and integrated system of health, human services and community‑based prevention in King County (Motion 2012-0420).

·        An ordinance adopting the 2012 King County Countywide Planning Policies and ratifying the 2012 King County Countywide Planning Policies for unincorporated King County (Ordinance 2012-0282).

Metropolitan King County Council – 1:30 p.m.

Councilmembers are scheduled to discuss and possibly act on:

Ordinances approving labor agreements with:

·        Technical Employees’ Association (Staff, Interest Arbitration) representing employees in the department of transportation (Ordinance 2012-0409).

·        Technical Employees’ Association (Wastewater Treatment Division, Supervisors and Staff) representing employees in the departments of natural resources and parks, and King County information technology (Ordinance 2012-0421).

·        International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 117 (Wastewater Treatment Division, Professional & Technical and Administrative Support) representing employees in the department of natural resources and parks (Ordinance 2012-0422).

·        Service Employees International Union, Local 925 (Facilities Management Division) representing employees in the department of executive services (Ordinance 2012-0424).

·        International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 117 (Wastewater Treatment Division, Supervisors) representing employees in the department of natural resources and parks (Ordinance 2012-0425).

·        Professional and Technical Employees, Local 17 (Transit Chiefs) representing employees in the department of transportation (Ordinance 2012-0426).

King County Ferry District – Following meeting of King County Council ***Special Meeting***

Boardmembers are scheduled to discuss and take public testimony on:

·        A resolution relating to the operations and finances of the King County Ferry District and adopting the District’s 2013 budget and work plan (Substitute FD Resolution No. FD2012-11.2).

 

King County Flood Control District – Following meeting of King County Council ***Special Meeting***

Boardmembers are scheduled to discuss and possibly take action on:

·        A resolution authorizing the expenditure of Flood District funds for projects and activities in Water Resource Inventory Areas 8, 9, the Snoqualmie watershed, and the Puyallup-White Watershed (Resolution No. FCD2012-11).

·        A resolution adopting the District’s 2013 work program, budget, operating budget for King County, capital budget, six-year capital improvement program, oversight budget and opportunity fund project list, and authorizing improvements (Substitute Resolution No. FCD2012-09.2). The Board will hear public testimony on this item.

Committee members are scheduled to discuss and possibly act on:

·        Fee and levy ordinances that will help support the 2013 King County budget, including:

o   An ordinance relating to the county property tax levies for collection in 2013 (Ordinance 2012-0395).

o   An ordinance relating to school impact fees (Ordinance 2012-0405).

o   An ordinance revising surface water management service charges (Ordinance 2012-0389).

o   An ordinance increasing monthly rental rates for aircraft tie-downs at King County International Airport (Boeing Field) (Ordinance 2012-0393).

o   An ordinance establishing inattentive driving as a traffic infraction (Ordinance 2012-0396).

o   An ordinance establishing a pilot program for 2012 and 2013 to incent the voluntary separation of retirement-eligible career or civil service employees as necessary to minimize the number of employees subject to reduction in force (Ordinance 2012-0398).
