King County Elections announces appointment of Deputy Director

With a unanimous vote of Councilmembers present, the King County Council today confirmed Julie Wise as Deputy Director of King County Elections. Wise has been serving in this role since October, 2014 where she oversaw the administration of 3 elections.

With a unanimous vote of Councilmembers present, the King County Council today confirmed Julie Wise as Deputy Director of King County Elections. Wise has been serving in this role since October, 2014 where she oversaw the administration of 3 elections.

“I appointed Julie to this position last year because of her breadth of experience in election administration and her leadership skills. I have worked with Julie for 10 years and her hands-on experience positioned her well for this role,” said Sherril Huff, King County Elections Director.

Wise, a nationally and state-certified elections administrator, has worked at King County Elections for 13 years. Prior to serving as the Deputy Director, Julie managed the Voter Services Team, handling the voter registration process and maintaining the voter registration database for 1.2 million registered voters.

“I’m honored to be confirmed in the role of Deputy Director,” said Wise. “Over the past 13 years I have been a part of very positive changes at King County Elections and I look forward to bringing innovative new ideas to the steadfast work that King County Elections does day-in and day-out for each election.”

The Deputy Director of King County Elections reports to the King County Elections Director and is responsible for overall executive-level management, oversight and planning for the conduct of local, state and federal elections in King County. This position supervises the functions of voter registration, mail ballot processing and delivery, and election operations.
