No one was injured in a fire that broke out around 11:30 p.m. last night at a home on the 26000 block of Johns Road East, between the towns of South Prairie and Wilkeson. Firefighters from East Pierce Fire and Rescue and Orting Valley Fire and Rescue responded to the single-wide mobile home fire.

When the firefighters arrived, two-thirds of the mobile home was engulfed in flames. Because there were no fire hydrants nearby, firefighters used tenders to shuttle water to the blaze.

According to Pierce County Fire Marshal Rod Lasher, the home is a total loss. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
