Leadership council to meet in Tacoma

The Puget Sound Partnership’s Leadership Council will meet 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, and 9 a.m. to Noon on Friday, Dec. 13, in the Commencement Bay Conference Room at the Center for Urban Waters, 326 East D St., Tacoma.

The Puget Sound Partnership’s Leadership Council will meet 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, and 9 a.m. to Noon on Friday, Dec. 13, in the Commencement Bay Conference Room at the Center for Urban Waters, 326 East D St., Tacoma.

Highlights include presentations on:

  • Ecology’s proposed No Discharge Zone.
  • Levee vegetation pilot projects and work on floodplains by design.
  • The status of Floodplains, Land Use and Summer Stream Flow Vital Signs.
  • Science program priorities, including a presentation on a sub-set of priority monitoring gaps.

Other highlights include:

  • A Report Card Forum on the region’s progress in implementing Near Term Actions related to Land Use, Floodplains and Water Resources.
  • Consideration of a resolution to include the West Central Local Integrating Organization’s Near Term Actions into the Action Agenda.
  • Adoption of 2014 Puget Sound state and federal legislative priorities.
