Tyler Nelson, 26, died at the scene after hitting a pickup truck while traveling in the wrong lane. He was attempting to pass a car and was not wearing his seatbelt.

The resulting rollover accident forced state police to close all lanes of state Route 410 just east of Bonney Lake.

Washington State Patrol and East Pierce Fire and Rescue comprised the safety personnel on the scene.

The accident occurred just east of the intersection with 234th Avenue East.
