The city of Bonney Lake and DM Disposal are are joining for the second mayor’s food drive.

On Thursday, Nov. 19, DM Disposal will collect non-perishable food items that are left curbside in a special bag distributed to customers inside city limits prior to the event.

The holiday season is a time of giving, and DM Disposal encourages all residences in Bonney Lake to participate in this event. The most-wanted food items are canned fruits and veggies, peanut butter, canned tuna, soups, stews and chili, and canned meats. Food items will be picked up starting at 7am on November 19th by DM Disposal employees (separately from your normal garbage service).

  • Non-perishables only.
  • No glass or already opened items.
  • If rain is forecast, please no boxed items.

DM is also seeking volunteers to help prepare the donation bags on October 29th from 9:30 am to 2pm at their offices in Fife. Contact Mark Gingrich at 253-377-1927 or markgi@wasteconnections.com if you’re interested in volunteering.

If you would like to participate in the food drive but are unable to have items curbside on November 19th, please consider a drop-off at the Bread of Life Food Bank of Bonney Lake at 18409 Veterans Memorial Dr E, Bonney Lake.

All food donations will be delivered by DM Disposal to the Bonney Lake Food Bank. This event is supported by the city of Bonney Lake and the Emergency Food Network (www.efoodnet.org).
