Franciscan Health System announced today, Tuesday, that it will begin construction later this year on a 45,000-square-foot medical office building in Bonney Lake for physicians’ offices, an urgent-care medical clinic and other outpatient health-related services.
The facility, which will be called Franciscan Medical Pavilion-Bonney Lake, will be on a 3.2-acre lot that Franciscan owns at state Route 410 and 184th Street. Construction is scheduled to start in late summer or early autumn 2011, with the building slated to open in the fall of 2012.
“This facility will provide exciting opportunities for us to better serve the residents of Bonney Lake, Sumner and other communities in east Pierce County,” said Franciscan Chief Operating Officer Cliff Robertson, M.D. “They will enjoy convenient access to high-quality medical services, closer to their homes.”
In addition to primary care physicians and a clinic where adults and children receive prompt care for minor illnesses and injuries, Franciscan Medical Pavilion-Bonney Lake will include laboratory, diagnostic imaging and other ancillary outpatient services. The building’s parking lot will accommodate about 200 vehicles.
Rush Commercial of Gig Harbor will be the project developer. Franciscan and Rush will be co-owners of the building, with Franciscan also being the facility’s primary tenant. Both organizations used this successful business model for the Franciscan Medical Pavilion-Canyon Road in Puyallup (opened 2010) and the Port Orchard Medical Clinic in Kitsap County (opened 2006).

The architect for the Bonney Lake medical office building will be selected soon.
In February, the Franciscan Health System opened St. Elizabeth Hospital in nearby Enumclaw. The state-of-the-art hospital’s service area includes Bonney Lake, Buckley, Black Diamond and other communities. Franciscan also has hospitals in Tacoma, Federal Way, Lakewood and Gig Harbor, plus a network of primary and specialty care clinics and providers in Pierce, King and Kitsap counties.
