Metropolitan King County Council Monday, Jan. 12, highlights

An ordinance providing for the submission to voters in April a proposition authorizing a property tax levy for the capitol transition and financing cost for the Puget Sound emergency radio network project (Ordinance 2015-0016). The ordinance was sent to the Budget and Fiscal Management Committee for discussion and possible action.

At today’s Council meeting, council members:

–Proclaimed the month of January Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Month in King County.

  • Adopted motions confirming the reappointment of

o   Jay Becker to the King County Vashon-Maury Island Groundwater Protection Committee (Motion 2015-0465).

o   John Browne to the King County Noxious Weed Control Board (Motion 2015-0015).

o   Jean Garber to the King County Solid Waste Advisory Committee (Motion 2015-0023).

Introduction of ordinances and motions for Committee action:

  • An ordinance providing for the submission to voters in April a proposition authorizing a property tax levy for the capitol transition and financing cost for the Puget Sound emergency radio network project (Ordinance 2015-0016). The ordinance was sent to the Budget and Fiscal Management Committee for discussion and possible action.
  • An ordinance approving a transit service funding agreement with the city of Seattle (Ordinance 2015-0039). The ordinance was sent to the Transportation, Economy and Environment Committee for discussion and possible action.
  • An ordinance approving service changes for June 2015 and September 2015 that will be funded by the city of Seattle through a transit service funding agreement with King County (Ordinance 2015-0040). The ordinance was sent to the Transportation, Economy and Environment Committee for discussion and possible action.
