Metropolitan King County Council Monday, Sept. 8, highlights

Adopted a motion relating to comprehensive planning; requesting the King County executive to initiate a comprehensive update of the West Hill Community Plan for consideration as part of the proposed amendment to the King County Comprehensive Plan in 2015 (Motion 2014-0376).

At today’s Council meeting, Councilmembers:

–      Proclaimed the week beginning September 8, 2014 as Diaper Need Awareness Week in King County.

  • Adopted a motion relating to comprehensive planning; requesting the King County executive to initiate a comprehensive update of the West Hill Community Plan for consideration as part of the proposed amendment to the King County Comprehensive Plan in 2015 (Motion 2014-0376).

Introduction of ordinances and motions for Committee action:

  • An ordinance renewing for six months an existing moratorium on the establishment or location of medical marijuana dispensaries and collective gardens asserted to be or actually authorized under Chapter 181, Laws of Washington 2011, and chapter 69.51A RCW (Ordinance 2014-0380). The ordinance was sent to the Committee of the Whole for discussion and possible action.
  • An ordinance adopting public transportation service reductions in the February 2015 scheduled service change (Ordinance 2014-0382). The motion was sent to the Transportation, Economy and Environment Committee for discussion and possible action.
