New apartments coming to Bonney Lake

They’ll be lining SR 410 by around 2020, a representative said.

The Buttered Biscuit Too may be getting a few next-door neighbors in the next couple of years.

On Oct. 9, the Bonney Lake City Council re-zoned four parcels near the eastern limits of the city, paving the way for a new apartment complex called “The View by Vintage” to be built between 216th Avenue and 221st Avenue along state Route 410.

The re-zoning was required in order to bring the area into compliance with Bonney Lake’s future land use map, which was amended in 2017, said city Planning and Building Supervisor Jason Sullivan.

The parcels themselves went from being designated Eastown to general commercial.

Both zones allow high density multi-family living units, perfect for the 17-building, 408-unit apartment complex, complete with a clubhouse, pool, and other activity spaces, as well as close to 900 parking spaces.

According to Vintage Housing Development President Ryan Patterson, Vintage Housing hopes to have gone through the State Environmental Policy Act process, have a building permit, and start construction by December 2018.

He added construction is expected to take around 22 months, making the potential opening date around October 2020.

According to Bonney Lake, the cost of the project is close to $84 million.
