After two successful summers of chemical treatment to remove the eurasian milfoil in Lake Tapps, Cascade Water Alliance is taking a more targeted approach this year: pulling out the invasive weed by hand.
East Pierce Fire and Rescue is offering a new, one-hour CPR class for people who don’t require a certification card. This free course will be presented once a month at the fire station headquarters, 18421 Veterans Memorial Drive East, in Bonney Lake, starting September 19.

VEHICLE PROWLS: Police took a report of a vehicle prowl Aug. 27 in which an unlocked car on Winter Place was entered; sunglasses valued at $1 were taken. A second report of a vehicle prowl wound up being outside city jurisdiction. Also on Aug. 27, police were told approximately $50 worth of gas was siphoned from a vehicle on Semanski Street.
