Pierce County Council to hold final on-location meeting of 2014

The Pierce County Council holds at least one of its regular Tuesday meetings in each of the seven council districts each year.

The Pierce County Council holds at least one of its regular Tuesday meetings in each of the seven council districts each year. The final stop on the 2014 tour will be at the new Parkland/Spanaway Sheriff’s precinct on Dec. 9 at 5:30 p.m. The address is 14113 Pacific Ave. S. (click here for a map).

“I am a staunch supporter of an open, accessible representative government, which is why I am glad the County Charter provides for these meetings around the county,” said Council Member Rick Talbert, who represents the 5th Council Districtwhich includes Parkland. “I want to give our citizens every opportunity to participate in what the Council does and I’m looking forward to a great turnout at the new Sheriff’s precinct.”

The last planned meeting of the Pierce County Council in 2014 is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 16. There are no meetings planned for the weeks of Dec. 22-26 and Dec. 29-Jan. 2, 2015. The first Council meeting in 2015 is slated for 3 p.m. on Jan. 6.
