Pierce County Library board to discuss block play award

  • Pierce County READS 2015 successfully launched and is off to a good start. Board packet (p.39-48)
  • StoryCorps will meet with Storm Reyes, former Executive Assistant for Pierce County Library, to discuss making an animated short film of her story featured last year on NPR. Board packet (p.50)
  • Georgia Lomax, Executive Director for Pierce County Library, has been invited to serve as one of six Global Libraries Legacy Grant advisors to continue the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s goal of leaving the library field stronger and more resilient. Board packet (p.59)

  • The library seeks Board approval to create a capital project that will move the Fife Library entrance from 20th Street East to the roundabout on the opposite side of the building. Project estimate is $300,000 and also will result in additional customer parking (spaces TBD). Board packet (p.63)
  • Work has kicked off for the library’s first employee engagement survey which will be deployed this spring. Feedback from staff will help create a workplace culture that promotes the library’s vision and goals. Board packet (p.78)
