The Pierce County Sheriff’s department is investigating a fatal shooting that took place in Buckley early Saturday morning.

At 2:27 a.m., the sheriff’s department said in a Facebook post, a 911 caller said that a man had been shot and killed in a small garage / shed at a property near Highway 410 and 272nd Ave E.

Deputies questioned two women on the scene, who said they had been performing a security check of the property, which belongs to a friend, when they confronted a man who was inside of the shed.

An altercation ensued, according to deputies, and one of the women shot the man, who died at the scene. The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed yet, the department said.
