Plateau police blotter | Aug. 17 – 24

Shots fired at an Enumclaw home, a sunk police boat in Black Diamond, and treed raccoons in Buckley.

BUCKLEY

Aug. 19

– Around 5:35 a.m., officers were called to a SR 410 hotel regarding a female that wouldn’t leave. She was gone by the time police arrived, but officers learned she was only recently allowed back on the property after being previously trespassed. She was later located and informed she was trespassed again.

Aug. 20

– Officers were patrolling Church Street when they made contact with a young male in a red sedan. The male was laying across the front seats with his eyes open. Police attempted to contact the male, but he did not respond until he suddenly sat up and attempted to drive away; officers followed until the man stopped and police contacted him a second time. Again, he attempted to drive away. He stopped a third time, and told officers he was having a mental health crisis, and involuntarily committed to a hospital.

Aug. 23

– Police were called to South C Street around 8:04 a.m. regarding a raccoon attacking a dog. Officers arrived to see two raccoons treed by a dog; they were helped from the tree and escaped; no injuries were reported on the dog.

Aug. 24

– Officers were dispatched to Division Street and Ryan Road around 12:16 a.m. to check on a man slumped over his vehicle; the car was running, and the man had his foot on the brake. When the man woke up, he drove away, and police followed. They were able to stop the car and arrest him for suspicion of DUI. He was later found to be twice over the legal limit.

ENUMCLAW

Aug. 18

– Officers arrested one person for domestic violence on Blanchat Court around 12:29 p.m.

– A police stop on Lafromboise Street around 1:36 p.m. resulted in a citation and release for an altered trip permit.

– Officers received a report of shots fired at a residence on Myrtle Avenue around 7:23 p.m. One subject was arrested on multiple weapons violation and reckless endangerment.

– A cell phone was stolen from QFC around 7:45 p.m. The suspect and the phone in question were located in a McDonalds parking lot. Victim declined to press charges.

– Police were on the lookout around 9:04 p.m. for a subject reported to visiting a friend in the Enumclaw area, but failed to return home. The reporting party did not want to file a missing person report.

– An unknown subject was reported banging on a Cole Street window around 10:33 p.m. Officers arrived and determined the subject was intoxicated, and the ex girlfriend of the reporting party. Police gave her a courtesy ride home to Buckley, leaving her vehicle in town.

Aug. 19

– A traffic stop on Porter Street and Initial Aveue around 1:33 a.m. resulted in a DUI arrest.

– Police helped remove downed power lines on Fell Street around 12:38 p.m.

– Officers received a report of a male and female subject in a Franks Lane portable toilet for an extended period of time around 12:59 p.m. The subjects were moved along.

– Police responded with EMS to a Terry Lane overdose around 8:40 p.m. The patient was transported to an Auburn hospital.

– Officers were called to Rainier Bar and Grill around 10:18 p.m. about an intoxicated subject harassing staff over a lost purse. They were advised they couldn’t return to the restaurant.

Aug. 20

– Police confiscated drugs off Roosevelt Avenue around 9:28 p.m. for destruction.

Aug. 21

– A Watson Street welfare check around 2:39 p.m. resulted in an involuntary commitment at St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Aug. 22

– A traffic stop on Garret Street and Washington Avenue around 4:59 a.m. resulted in the driver being arrested and released for reckless driving.

– Officers received a report of a subject trying door handles on the QFC parking lot around 6:19 a.m. The subject was moved along.

– Police received a report of a stoled vehicle off Roosevelt Avenue around 1:20 p.m. The vehicle found by Gig Harbor police on Aug. 23.

– Officers were called to Franks Lane around 7:53 p.m. to a report of a child in a locked car without A/C. Officers were able to retrieve the child.

Aug. 23

– Police responded to an attempted theft at Worksports around 10:34 a.m. The issue was settled on contact.

BLACK DIAMOND

Aug. 17

– Officers were called to 3rd Avenue around 6:45 p.m. in regards to a missing dog. Police advised the caller contact animal control and local shelters.

Aug. 18

– Police were informed the department boat sank in Lake Sawyer around 7:15 a.m. Officers found the boat almost completely submerged. Public Works was able to tow the boat to the boat launch, hooked it to a trailer, and drive it away to be stored.

Aug. 19

– Officers were dispatched to Lawson Street around 10:42 p.m. to a suspicious vehicle report. Police contacted the people in the vehicle, who told officers they were traveling westbound when two elk jumped in front of them. The car was unable to stop and hit one elk; both the driver and passenger reported no injuries. The car was moved off the roadway and a family member picked up the subjects.

Aug. 21

– Police were called to 5th Avenue to a report of a loose dog around 11:58 a.m. Officers were able to locate the animal and return it to its owner.

– Officers were dispatched to 3rd Avenue to a report of a suspicious person around 6:26 p.m. The subject turned out to be just providing maintenance on construction equipment.
