BARKING COMPLAINT

• Police responded at 3:35 a.m. Feb. 9 to a Jewell Street address after a neighbor complained of two dogs barking continuously. An officer knocked on the door of the home several times and received no response, other than the dogs’ barking. Police were able to make contact later in the day to advise the pet owners of the problem.

MUTUAL COMBAT

• An officer responded at 11:13 a.m. Feb. 9 to a Semanski Street address after hearing of an assault that occurred earlier in the day. It was determined not to be an assault, but rather a case of mutual combat. No action was taken.

VEHICLE PROWL

• Police were told the morning of Feb. 9 that someone had entered a vehicle at an Initial Place address. The suspect took a flashlight and compact discs valued at approximately $130.

• At 9:24 p.m. Feb. 11, an officer was advised of a possible auto theft on Charwila Lane. The suspect fled in a black pickup truck before the officer arrived on scene. The officer checked the area for the vehicle, but did not find the suspect.

• At 5:11 a.m. Feb. 12, an officer was advised of a stolen vehicle on Myrtle Avenue. The green 1992 Honda Accord had been taken sometime during the night after the owner parked and locked it after returning from work. The officer checked the Vehicle Information Number and found that it had been impounded from a driver that was arrested for Driving While License Suspended. The owner was advised of the vehicle’s location.

WINDOWS SHOT

• Police were told Feb. 9 that someone shot out the window of a Toyota 4Runner while it was parked on Kibler Avenue.

• The morning of Feb. 8 police learned someone had show out the front window of a Stevenson Avenue building with a projectile from a slingshot. The damage was estimated at $900. While taking the report, police also noticed splatter from a paint ball on the building.

• Feb. 7, a Garfield Street resident reported the window of his vehicle had been shot out while it was parked in his driveway. Similar reports were taken that day from residents of Semanski Street, Kibler Avenue and Division Street.

• Feb. 6, police received several calls from residents who discovered automobile windows shattered. Two calls came from Lowell Avenue residents and others came from Kibler Avenue, Harding Street and Florence Street.

SOLICITING

• Police were told the afternoon of Feb. 8 of two men soliciting in the Loraine street vicinity. They were contacted and told of the city’s regulations concerning door-to-door sales, specifically that they needed to obtain a permit.

BB GUN

• A caller told police the afternoon of Feb. 8 there was a 12-year-old boy standing in the yard of a home near Fell Street and Griffin Avenue, pointing a BB gun at passing traffic. When confronted, the boy said the gun was empty and he was just practicing. When police arrived, there was no one to be found.

EXTRA PATROL

• A citizen told police someone damaged his fence and possibly tried to enter the garage of his Elmont Avenue home. The resident was told there would be extra police patrol in the area.

FIGHT IN PROGRESS

• Officers responded shortly after 1 a.m. Feb. 7 to a Roosevelt Avenue address after hearing of a fight in progress. Police spoke with all involved; no charges were to be filed as everyone went their separate ways.

GUNS TAKEN

• Police responded at 1:07 a.m. Feb. 7 to a Roosevelt Avenue address, hearing of a dispute that began when an allegedly drunk driver ran over the bushes in a woman’s yard. Police arrived and separated the people involved, none of whom wished to press charges. More than one gun was found and then were taken for safekeeping.

DRUNK DRIVER

• A traffic stop at 12:14 a.m. Feb. 6 at the intersection of Semanski Street and state Route 410 resulted in the driver being booked for driving under the influence.

• A traffic stop at 12:24 a.m. Feb. 6 at the intersection of state Route 410 and 244th Avenue Southeast resulted in the driver being booked for driving under the influence. It was also noted that two passengers were highly intoxicated and had been drinking in the vehicle; they were to receive citations through the mail.

• A traffic stop at 1:55 a.m. Feb. 6 at the intersection of Semanski Street and state Route 410 resulted in the driver booked for driving under the influence. Passengers were released at the scene.

DRUG CHARGE

• A traffic stop at 2:40 a.m. Feb. 6 resulted in one person taken into custody on a drug charge and resisting; the person was also found to be the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant. The suspect was booked into jail and the vehicle was released to its registered owner.

ABANDONED HOME

• A caller told police Feb. 6 of ongoing problems at an abandoned home on Myrtine Street. Juveniles were playing on a trampoline that had been left behind. There had been previous incidents of vandalism and trespassing.

PAINTBALL PROBLEMS

• At approximately 6 p.m. Feb. 6, people walking in the vicinity of Roosevelt Avenue and Garfield Street told police someone shot at them with a paint ball gun. They were not hurt. The suspects were said to be in a Subaru Outback.

• Police received numerous complaints the evening of Feb. 6 from victims reporting their homes had been hit with paint balls. Reports came from Loraine Street, Lafromboise Street, Michael Avenue and Division Street.

• At 10:36 a.m. on Feb. 11, an officer took information on a report of malicious mischief at a Chinook Avenue residence. Paint balls were shot at the residence some time in the previous 10-12 days. Residue was left, which the owner said they would clean.

MINOR IN POSSESSION

• Two intoxicated minors were taken into custody at 9:41 p.m. Feb. 6. They were taken to the police station for booking and later released to parents.

LICENSE SUSPENDED

• At 2:26 p.m. Feb. 10, an officer arrested a driver on Cole Street for Driving While License Suspended in the third degree. The officer found the driver after responding to a report of a recklessly driven vehicle, swerving and almost sending itself careening off the roadway. The vehicle was impounded.

SUSPICIOUS

• At 4:03 p.m. Feb. 10, officers inspected a residence on Lafromboise Street while responding to a report that an unknown person had entered the house. A small child left home alone was frightened by the person entering the home. The search did not turn up any entrants, and the child was placed with a neighbor until the parents could be located.

NON-INJURY HIT, RUN

• At 5:52 p.m. Feb. 10, an officer responded to a non-injury accident at the intersection of Griffin Avenue and First Street and found that the suspect fled prior to officer arrival. The suspect’s vehicle was later found at a Garrett Street Parking lot and impounded. It was released to the owner the following day upon receipt of $1,000 bail.

OVERDOSE

• At 6:21 p.m. Feb. 11, an officer responded to an aid call at Lincoln Avenue. A subject had possibly overdosed on street drugs. The subject was transported to Auburn Regional Hospital for treatment.

COUNTERFEITER

• At 5:20 p.m. Feb. 12, an officer attempted to locate a suspect who had tried to pass a bogus $100 bill on Roosevelt Avenue. The suspect left the scene in a white BMW, and the officer could not locate the vehicle. Three days later, the vehicle was seen parked unattended at Safeway, but it was gone when the officer checked back less than an hour later.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

• At 12:24 a.m. Feb. 13, an officer observed an intoxicated individual urinating in a parking lot on Railroad Street. An informational report was taken for disorderly conduct and the officer counseled the subject at the scene, but no charges were filed at this time.

DUI

• At 12:09 a.m. Feb. 9, a 61-year-old woman was stopped on state Route 410 East at Park Avenue for a moving violation. The woman was found to be operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested, issued a notice of infraction and criminal citation and released to an acquaintance.

LICENSE SUSPENDED

• At 6:25 p.m. Feb. 10, a 26-year-old woman was stopped on Mundy Loss Road and 120th Street East for failing to stop at a stop sign. The woman was found to be driving on a suspended license. She was arrested, issued a notice of infraction and criminal citation and released on location.

VEHICLE INJURY

• At 6:34 p.m. Feb. 10, an officer responded to a collision between a vehicle and a child on Main Street at the Rainier Street intersection. Upon arrival, the child was being treated by emergency personnel, was conscious and appeared to have only slight injuries. The vehicle’s driver was not injured. The child was transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

BURGLARY

• At midnight Feb. 10, an officer was dispatched to a Heather Lane residence for a reported theft. The victim reported an Xbox 360, television and five games were stolen during the night. He stated he could find no signs of forced entry, but the residence was being remodeled and the garage door code had been given to several subcontractors. No witnesses or suspects were available at the time of report.

• At midnight Feb. 11, an officer was dispatched to a Pershing Avenue residence for a reported firearm theft. Fourteen antique rifles had been stolen from a storage unit the victim rents out from the homeowner. No suspects were available at the time of report.
