WORRIED ABOUT DRIVER

• A citizen arrived at the police station the afternoon of May 6, expressing concern that a family member continues to drive after being advised by a physician not to operate a vehicle for six months. PARKING TROUBLE

• A Wilson Avenue complained to police May 6 of a vehicle parked on the street for more than a year. Police contacted the owner, a neighbor, who agreed to move the vehicle that night.

SUSPICIOUS

• Police agreed to assist with the walk-through of a rental property on Lafromboise Street. It was reported renters had departed three weeks earlier, but newer items were seen in the home, giving the appearance that someone was living there illegally. An officer contacted the reporting party, who was going to initiate an eviction process.

ASSAULT

• A caller told police May 6 that her boyfriend had hit her friend twice during a heated verbal dispute. Police responded and arrested a man for assault/domestic violence and took him to the police station for booking. The witness refused to provide a statement.

OBSTRUCTING

• Police were told May 5 of a man walking in traffic in the vicinity of Porter Street and Griffin Avenue. It also was noted he had hit the hood of one car. Police contacted the man, who failed to cooperate and eventually was arrested for obstructing an officer and resisting arrest. Additionally, it was learned that the man had an outstanding arrest warrant issued in Seattle for failure to appear on charges of malicious mischief and resisting arrest.

TWO CHARGES

• An officer responded May 4 to a Railroad Street address after learning of a fight in progress. One subject was taken into custody and booked for assault and the unlawful carrying of a firearm.

RUDE AWAKENING

• At 12:30 a.m. Saturday, officers were dispatched to the scene of a car accident that featured a vehicle upside down in a ditch on the corner of state Route 410 and the Hinkleman Road Extension. The driver of the vehicle was standing next to his submerged car and told officers when they arrived that he had fallen asleep at the wheel and had driven into the ditch after his vehicle caromed off a utility pole and flipped over onto its roof. The man was checked by medical aid after which he was released and given a ticket for negligent driving.

HURTIN’ HOUND

• Just before 8 p.m. Sunday a Church Street resident waved down a Wilkeson officer and said that neighborhood dog had snarled at him. The policeman approached the dog and the animal snarled at him too, at which time the officer gave the dog a dose of pepper spray. The officer then contacted the owner and advised him that the dog should not be running loose and that it should be kept behind a fence.
