ASSIST

• An officer responded Dec. 30 to a Griffin Avenue address to assist with a patient. The patient was transported to Enumclaw Regional Hospital.

UNWANTED

• Police were told at about 11:30 p.m. Dec. 30 that an unwanted, intoxicated man was standing outside a Warner Avenue apartment. The caller said the man had assaulted his ex-girlfriend in the apartment and she was too intimidated to get the man to leave. When police made contact, the woman denied having any problems with the man and she did not want him to leave.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

• Police responded Dec. 29 to a Lafromboise Street address following the report of a domestic disturbance. An officer made contact and arrested a man for fourth-degree assault/domestic violence and interfering with the reporting of a crime.

EXPLOSION

• A caller told police of an explosion Dec. 29 in the vicinity of Martin Johnson Park. An officer checked the park and found no damage. Later, the Harding Street resident found the remains of a sparkler bomb in what was left of a snowman in his front yard, which is adjacent to the park.

SHOPLIFTING

• A shoplifting suspect was taken into custody Dec. 27 at a Monroe Avenue address and booked into the Enumclaw jail. A parent was called to retrieve the suspect’s vehicle, which had a dog inside.

DRIVERS CHARGED

• A Dec. 25 traffic stop resulted in a driver being arrested for driving while intoxicated and operating a vehicle with a suspended license.

• A Dec. 24 traffic stop resulted in a driver taken into custody on drug charges and for operating a vehicle with a suspended license.

TRESPASSED

• At about 3:15 p.m. Friday, police got a call from employees of a Main Street business, asking them to remove an unruly subject. The man had already been escorted from the premises once earlier in the day and had been asked not to return. It was requested that this time the officer hand deliver a letter of trespass signed by the bar’s manager; the 24-year old male could not be found, so the letter was mailed.

ILLEGAL FIREWORKS

• At a little after midnight on Jan. 1, a contingent of revelers had a row of tubes lined up along the shoulder of the road in the 700 block of Main Street with fireworks stuffed into them. An officer making his appointed rounds noticed the future launching pad for the fireworks display, moments before it was about to be touched off. The excited throng tried to explain that the fireworks were legal, but the officer disagreed and confiscated the dangerous fireworks.

A LEG UP?

• An officer was on patrol before 1 a.m. Dec. 29 when he spied what appeared to be a human appendage in the parking lot of a city bar. Upon further investigation he observed that it was a prosthetic device; he retrieved the artificial leg and entered it into the department’s property room.
