DEATH INVESTIGATION

• At 10:58 a.m. Dec. 16, police responded to an address on 88th Street East to assist in a death investigation. East Pierce Fire and Rescue was on the scene. Emergency crews were contacted by the 43-year-old decedent’s sister, who found her on the couch at 10:45 a.m. The sister said the decedent had a history of health problems. There was no sign of foul play or any indication of suicide notes.

HIT AND RUN

• A hit-and-run occurred in the 7400 block of Old Vandermark Road and police responded at 4:55 p.m. Dec. 16. The driver of the suspect vehicle allegedly fled in the scene and police found the vehicle a half-mile away with damage consistent with the collision. The suspected driver, a 24-year-old man, was booked for hit-and-run and driving under the influence after displaying signs of intoxication.

DRUG POSSESSION

• At 10:56 p.m. Dec. 20, a 25-year-old man was observed traveling in the 17800 block of state Route 410 and a records check revealed he was driving with a suspended license. When stopped, the man told police he did not have insurance and admitted to having marijuana in the car. The man was cited for unlawful possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was issued a citation for having no insurance and the vehicle was impounded.
