Police looking for leads on theft of diamond-studded earrings

The Bonney Lake Police Department is seeking information concerning the theft of diamond studded earrings.

The Bonney Lake Police Department is seeking information concerning the theft of diamond studded earrings.

Officers responded to a 3:55 p.m. call from Chipper's Jewelry at 20077 state Route 410 on March 17.

Upon arrival, the officers learned that a black male, 22 to 25 years old, approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 250 pounds, stole two earrings valued at $7,200.

The suspect was reported to be wearing a purple head bandanna and a blue and yellow or purple sport type jacket.

According to Chipper's employees, the suspect asked to see merchandise. During the incident the suspect talked on a cellular phone. He claimed to be a collegiate football player.

While in possession of the merchandise, the suspect fled out of the store to a waiting, occupied vehicle which was parked behind a nearby business.

The vehicle was described as a dark red or maroon passenger vehicle. The suspect fled the scene with another person heading southeast on South Prairie Road.
