LAPTOP DISPUTE: Police met April 14 with a Semanski Street resident who wished to report the theft of a laptop computer by her live-in boyfriend. She apparently agreed to let him use it and he was refusing to return the item. The situation was put on hold until proof of ownership could be determined.

WELFARE CONCERN: An employee of a Cole Street business called police the evening of April 14, reporting that a man had been asked to leave the bar and did so without incident. Due to his behavior, the employee was concerned for the man’s welfare. Police contacted the subject and determined he was under the influence of something, but was not a danger to himself or others. He was provided with directions so he could get to the residence where he was staying.

PELTED WITH EGGS: A Porter Street resident told police the morning of April 13 that both of his vehicles had been “egged” the previous night. A request for extra patrol was made due to recent incidents of malicious mischief in the area.

DRUNK DRIVER: Police were alerted shortly before midnight April 13 to possibly-impaired driver. The suspect’s vehicle was located, then impounded, and the driver was taken to the station to be booked for driving under the influence.

WANTED ON WARRANTS: Police were told at 5:45 a.m. April 12 of a man standing along Southeast 448th Street. Police contacted the man and learned he was simply waiting to be picked up by his daughter. Police also discovered he was wanted on three arrest warrants; none were serious enough to call for extradition, so he was not taken into custody.

FRAUD ATTEMPT: An elderly city woman received a phone call from an unknown person shortly before noon April 12. The caller requested money because the woman’s grandchild had been in an accident. The woman told the would-be scammer to call her later so she could verify the story.

NO SOLICITING: Police took a report the afternoon of April 12 regarding two door-to-door solicitors in the vicinity of Loraine Street. When contacted, the subjects agreed to leave town.

VEHICLE PROWL: A Warner Avenue resident told police April 12 an unlocked vehicle had been entered. Taken were a sandwich and a flashlight. There were no suspects or witnesses.
