Powwow returns April 6 to EHS

The grand entry begins at 7 p.m.

Dancing, drumming and food will be found the evening of April 6 when Enumclaw High School hosts its 23rd annual powwow.

This year’s event, again sponsored by the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe, returns to EHS. It had moved last year to nearby Enumclaw Middle School due to construction on the EHS campus.

The public is invited to the free event, which begins with a “grand entry” at 7 p.m.

Dance contests will take place for “golden age” participants, adults, teens (13 to 17 years) and juniors (6 to 12).

The event emcee will be Grant Timentwa, arena director is Donald Powderface and Young Society will be host drummers. Ryan Yellowjohn is head man for this year’s powwow and Autumn Miller is head woman.
