The public is invited to help shape the future of Enumclaw’s parks, recreation and cultural offerings.

A survey was launched Thursday and was immediately well received, netting 50 responses by mid-afternoon, according to Recreation Manager Michelle Larson.

The survey is part of an effort to update the Parks Master Plan, she said.

“We’re seeking input about what’s important to the community,” Larson said, adding that citizens will be able to complete the survey through the end of April.

A plan will be developed and forwarded to the City Council for final approval.

The survey, which takes only a few minutes to complete, covers a lot of ground. Participants are asked to rate the importance of everything from city parks and athletic fields to trails, skate parks and public art. All have the option of rating the importance of programs for youth, adults and senior citizens.

Another section asked how often respondents visit city facilities like the swimming pool, golf course and Boise Creek Sixplex.

Those taking the survey can also tell the city what they would like to see more of – neighborhood parks, a dog park or athletic fields, among other options.
