Registration now open for 2015 Brightwater summer camps | King County

King County has partnered with the nonprofit organizations IslandWood and Friends of the Hidden River to offer summer day camp programs at Brightwater Center.

King County has partnered with the nonprofit organizations IslandWood and Friends of the Hidden River to offer summer day camp programs at Brightwater Center.

Programs take place at King County’s Brightwater Center, with over 70 acres of natural areas and three miles of trails. Brightwater’s creeks and forests are home to wildlife where campers will learn to observe nature, create art projects and enjoy hours of fun on the trail and in the lab.

Brightwater Center is located at 22505 State Route 9 S.E. in Woodinville.

The 2015 Brightwater summer camps include:

– The IslandWood Summer Day Camps at Brightwater Center

Day programs are designed for campers entering grades 1-6, featuring engaging nature exploration and scientific investigation. Camps begin on July 6, and programs run weekly through Aug. 10. Each camp runs a full-day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Read detailed camp descriptions and register here!

– Friends of the Hidden River’s Ground to Sound STEM Summer Camp

This program immerses campers in grades 5-7 in exciting field investigations and laboratory experiments, combining creativity and art with technology. Camp runs from July 6-10 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Read a detailed camp description and register here!

 

The Ground to Sound STEM Summer Camp at Brightwater is also looking for interns (high school seniors or graduates) and mentors (grades 8-11) to help with camp programs. Find out more by visiting their website (link below).
