The library has been offering free computer use for a number of years, however for the first time people with library cards may reserve time on a computer for up to 48 hours in advance and for up to two hours.

People may reserve time on a computer in a library, from home or by phone.

Until now, time on the computers was a first come, first serve basis without reservations. Also, people could only get 60 minutes on a computer.

Now some computers will be available for up to two hours to help people do more thorough research and writing, complete job applications and more.

This new service offers access to a computer at a location and time convenient for customers.

People may also reserve a computer in person or by a telephone call to a Pierce County Library.

With the current economic situation, people are asking for help and more time on the Library’s public computers to look for jobs, complete job applications and write resumes.

People are canceling their high speed Internet at home and using the library’s free public computers with high speed Internet.

Pierce County Library has been providing the free services people are asking for, and in this tough economic time the library is responding with more offerings to meet people’s needs.
