SUSPICIOUS: At 4:33 p.m. March 23, two officers were dispatched to 185th Avenue East and Vandyke Street to investigate a report of suspicious activity. The reporting person wanted police to check the area for juveniles possibly involved in drug activity. As they arrived, a group of juveniles were on the sidewalk. One ran off southbound. One juvenile identified the first name of the runner and stated he did not know why he fled. Several of the juveniles said they were meeting friends. They said they would go back home. The officers were clearing the area when they saw a juvenile jump over a fence on Vandyke Street and continue running southbound. A home owner exited his residence and asked if the youths were causing a problem. He was told they were not. An officer observed a backpack under the tree, which appeared to be the same as the one the fleeing juvenile was wearing. It was taken in as found property. The backpack contained two glass smoking devices, which were disposed of. A small amount of marijuana and a backpack were placed into property for safekeeping.

WARRANT: At 3:08 p.m. April 1, an officer was dispatched to the Peasley Canyon Park and Ride for a warrant meet with Tukwila Police. The officer took custody of a man with a Bonney Lake Municipal Court warrant for theft. They arrived at Enumclaw jail, where the prisoner stated he had a seizure disorder, but no medication. Jail staff refused to book him. The officer called Bonney Lake Municipal Court to report the situation, and they arranged for a new court date.

ELUDING: At 9:55 a.m. April 4, an officer was on routine patrol on the 10200 block of 214th Avenue East. He spotted a blue sedan traveling south past his location, and a check of the license plate number showed the registered owner had a suspended drivers license. The officer pulled onto the road with a few cars ahead. The officer observed the sedan pull onto South Prairie Road and accelerate above the posted speed limit. The patrol car turned in pursuit, and the officer observed the vehicle take an unsignaled left turn onto 210th Avenue East. The officer activated the emergency lights and siren and pursued the vehicle through several streets of the residential neighborhood. Eventually, the sedan stopped outside a park and a man exited, fleeing on foot. The registered owner was located inside, riding as a passenger. She said she had only just met the man driving her car, who was staying with a neighbor. She asked him to drive her to the store since she didn’t have a license. She did not know why he fled. Officers were unable to locate the suspect at the neighbor’s address. The sedan was towed from the scene and impounded.

FOUND PROPERTY: At 10:17 p.m. April 5, an officer was dispatched to a 76th Street East residence to respond to a report of found property. The caller reported a tenant moved out of her residence and left behind a travel trailer containing several starter marijuana plants. The trailer was parked next to the residence. A recently expired medical marijuana card was taped to the inside of the door. The card had the same name of the tenant, but a different birthdate. The landlord was in the process of removing all the property left at the residence, but she wanted the marijuana turned into police. The officer took photos of the trailer, medical card and starter plants. The plants were placed into a bag and relocated to the police department property room.

ROAD RAGE: At 3:38 p.m. April 7, an officer was dispatched to Lowe’s in reference to a disorderly subject. Dispatch advised the suspect damaged the tail light of another car. The victim told the officer he thought he may have cut off the suspect on state Route 410. The suspect followed the victim to the Lowe’s parking lot, exited his own vehicle and started yelling at the victim to get out so he could beat him. He was holding a steering wheel lock at the time. The victim stayed in his vehicle and tried to leave when the suspect hit his vehicle with the lock, destroying the tail light. The officer took photos of the damage. A Lowe’s employee was contacted, and the employee said the victim left the vehicle after the tail light broke, chasing the suspect with an 8- to 10-inch knife. Written statements were taken from both men and placed into the case file.
