Rotary awards eight scholarships

Eight graduating seniors, five from Enumclaw High School and three from White River, were awarded scholarships by members of Enumclaw Rotary.

Eight graduating seniors, five from Enumclaw High School and three from White River, were awarded scholarships by members of Enumclaw Rotary.

William Miller graduated from Enumclaw High with a 3.94 grade-point average. While in high school he played golf and basketball and was a member of National Honor Society and Spanish Club. He plans to attend Central Washington University to study actuarial science. ($1,500 scholarship)

Grace Sales graduated from Enumclaw High with a 4.0 GPA. She participated on the varsity swim and water polo teams, was in National Honor Society and Spanish Club and with the Link Crew. She will attend Western Washington University to become a high school teacher. ($1,500 scholarship)

Trevor Weeks graduated from Enumclaw High with a 4.0 GPA. He participated in soccer, cross country and track in addition to Key Club and German Club. He will attend the University of Montana to study wildlife biology. ($1,000 scholarship)

Nathan Sanders graduated from Enumclaw High with 3.87 cumulative GPA. He participated in Running Start, tennis, soccer and cross country. He plans to attend Montana State University to study mechanical engineering and mechanical technology. ($1,000 scholarship)

Michael Hinman graduated from Enumclaw High with 3.94 cumulative GPA. He is an Eagle Scout who participated in National Honor Society, golf and Key Club. He will attend the University of Washington to study computer science while participating in the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps. ($1,000 scholarship)

Gwendolyn Ulrick graduated from White River High School with a 4.0 GPA. She was involved in National Honor Society, DECA, Knowledge Bowl and as the leadership activities coordinator. She plans to attend the University of Portland to study business/political economics. ($1,500 scholarship)

Tyler Ussery graduated from White River High with a 3.57 GPA. His activities included Key Club, band, track and drama. He will attend Central Washington University to study music education and performance. ($1,500 scholarship)

Kelsey Williams graduated from White River High with a 4.0 GPA. She participated in volleyball, tennis and basketball in addition to serving as a class officer. She plans to attend a four-year university in the fall to study pre-med. ($1,000 scholarship)
