Rotary honors June students of the month

The Enumclaw Rotary Club recognized two area students as Students of the Month at its June 11 meeting.

The Enumclaw Rotary Club recognized two area students as Students of the Month at its June 11 meeting.

Emily Holznagel, daughter of Kim and Cindy Holznagel of Carbanado, was the recipient from White River High School. With a 3.77 grade-point average, Holznagel has participated in 4-H for nine years, FFA for four years, volleyball and cross country. Active in the horse community, she is a member of the Patterned Speed Horse Association and has also participated in rodeo events. She plans on attending the University of Wisconsin in the fall, working toward a business minor and equine science major and then pursuing a veterinary degree.

April Davis, daughter of Jeff Davis and Shirley Galusha of Enumclaw, was the recipient from Enumclaw High School. Davis has been an active participant with FFA during high school, serving as an officer the past three years, annually competing at local, district and state competitions, and has received numerous awards showing her animals at both the King County and Puyallup fairs. She plans on attending Green River Community College this fall while continuing her work with horses in hopes of becoming a professional horse trainer.
