Rotary picks stellar students

The Enumclaw Rotary Club recognized Laura Geske, Claire Hinman and Sierra Gulla as Students of The Month at its Dec. 16 meeting.

The Enumclaw Rotary Club recognized Laura Geske, Claire Hinman and Sierra Gulla as Students of The Month at its Dec. 16 meeting.

Geske, the daughter of Bonnie and Gil Geske of Bonny Lake, was the recipient from White River Alternative High School’s Choice Program. A 3.7 grade-point average student, Geske is currently a Running Start student at Green River Community College, where she will graduate with an associate degree. She plans to transfer to the University of Washington Tacoma. Her interests include reading, cooking and design.

Hinman, the daughter of Sharon and David Hinman of Enumclaw, was the recipient from Enumclaw High School. Hinman, who maintains a 3.98 GPA, is a member of the National Honor Society and has taken Advanced Placement classes in biology, calculus and literature. She is a member of Key Club, serving as secretary, and is on the golf team, serving as team captain. She plans to attend the University of Washington and study engineering.

Gulla, the daughter of Heather and Denny Gulla of Buckley, was the recipient from White River High School. A strong academic student, Gulla is a member of the National Honor Society and participates in both the high school basketball and track programs. She volunteers by tutoring and coaching youth basketball. She plans to attend Eastern Washington University to study biochemistry and genetic research.
