Scattered outages, road closures reported amid high winds in Plateau area

SR 169 is open; SR 164 remains closed.

High winds caused some road closures and power outages across the Plateau last Thursday (Nov. 17).

Highway 169 was clear as of 12:25 p.m. Thursday after briefly closing both directions of travel near Krain Corner.

Both northbound and southbound lanes of the highway closed late in the morning Nov. 17 near Krain Corner due to downed power lines caused by high winds, according to reports on scene.

The closure was at the intersection of Highway 169 from SE 400th street to SE 416th St, according to WSDOT.

Meanwhile, State Route 164 had briefly closed due to a downed power line in both directions at Marion Street. Workers on scene said the main line came down around 6 a.m.

Residents in or near the area may experience power outages. To check Puget Sound Energy’s outage map, visit: https://www.pse.com/outage/outage-map.
