SeaTac murder suspect captured in California | King County Sheriff

SeaTac shooting suspect Robert Studer was arrested on Saturday night after a more than eight hour stand-off with police in Taft, CA that were attempting to arresting him on a King County homicide warrant. Law enforcement from multiple agencies were involved in the containment and capture of the fugitive believed to be armed and dangerous.

SeaTac shooting suspect Robert Studer was arrested on Saturday night after a more than eight hour stand-off with police in Taft, CA that were attempting to arresting him on a King County homicide warrant.  Law enforcement from multiple agencies were involved in the containment and capture of the fugitive believed to be armed and dangerous.

An anonymous tip to King County detectives led police to the location in the central California city.

Studer fled SeaTac Thursday night after the shooting death of his 42 year old nephew.  His identity, photograph, and vehicle description were widely circulated by law enforcement and media over the following days.  Scores of tips came in to the King County Sheriff’s Office, one ultimately leading to Studer’s capture.

King County detectives are in Taft to continue the investigation into the SeaTac murder.  Taft is facing extradition to King County, which could take between one week to ninety days to resolve.
