Seatbelt stop finds stolen scrap metal | Washington State Patrol

Saturday April 14 at 1:11 p.m. a trooper conducted a traffic stop for a seatbelt violation Yelm. While approaching the vehicle the trooper noticed several steel grates and pieces of metal in the back seat and requested a Yelm officer to assist.

Saturday April 14 at 1:11 p.m. a trooper conducted a traffic stop for a seatbelt violation Yelm. While approaching the vehicle the trooper noticed several steel grates and pieces of metal in the back seat and requested a Yelm officer to assist.

While talking with the driver an officer from the Yelm Police Department arrived and advised he took a report at 8:00 am from the Eagle Car Wash off Yelm Avenue for approximately 168 feet of steel grates with an estimated value of $3000.

Upon further investigation the driver was arrested and booked into the Thurston County jail for possession of stolen roperty.
