FIGHTING: At 3 p.m.Sept. 6, an officer was dispatched to a call of a shoplifter fighting with security in the 6600 block of 166th Avenue East. The officer arrived and contacted the loss prevention agent in the security office. The employee said he watched the subject select multiple items and conceal them in her purse. The subject paid for the items she had in her cart, but did not pay for the items in her purse. The subject went out into the parking lot where she was confronted. When the employee went to escort the subject into the store she hit the agent in the head with a closed fist. When the officer asked the subject if she hit the employee in the head and she said, “hell yes, I did.” The officer then explained to the subject that she turned a simple misdemeanor into a felony by using force to get away. The subject was booked into Pierce County jail for second-degree robbery and assault in the third degree.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: At approximately 9:27 p.m. Sept 9, officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of Valley Avenue for a report of a man punching holes in the walls of his girlfriend’s apartment. Officers were advised that the man left on foot and had a warrant for his arrest. The victim said the man had just been released from jail and showed up at her apartment. She told him their relationship was over and that was when he caused damage to her property. The man was arrested and booked for malicious mischief and on his warrant.
