NOT ALLOWED: The city attorney was advised Dec. 8 of “sandwich board” signs posted in the city. The owner of the signs had previously been advised of an ordinance prohibiting such signage. An officer responded with the city attorney to retrieve the signs and again advise the owner of the ordinances. The owner agreed to adhere to the city ordinance.

SHOT FIRED: A Spruce Drive resident reported hearing a single shot fired at 3:10 a.m. Dec. 7. No other suspicious sounds were heard. Officers checked the area and found nothing out of line.

PRIVATE PROPERTY: Police were asked Dec. 7 to assist with a subject trespassing on the grounds of the Enumclaw airport. An officer responded and told the unwanted guests to leave and not return.

DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE: Police responded the evening of Dec. 7 to a D Court address and a report of a domestic disturbance in progress. One person was booked for fourth-degree assault.

MALICIOUS MISCHIEF: An Almadon Street resident called police the evening of Dec. 7, reporting a juvenile was shooting an airsoft rifle and hitting his windows. An officer contacted the juvenile, confiscated the rifle and asked that the juvenile’s parents call upon their arrival home. The airsoft rifle was later returned to the parents.

VEHICLE PROWLS: Police were told the evening of Dec. 5 items had been stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked on Griffin Avenue; taken were cash, a wallet, three checkbooks, several inactive bank cards and a bag of Corn Nuts. Police learned the morning of Dec. 7 a vehicle had been broken into, with a purse, wallet and paperwork taken. On Dec. 8, police learned of a prowl on Roosevelt Avenue in which an estimated $1,000 worth of property was taken. On Dec. 9, police were told of a vehicle prowl in a Jensen Street parking lot in which a GPS unit and charger were taken.

BURGLARY HALTED: Police were notified at 12:35 a.m. Dec. 6 of a burglary in progress at a Cinkovich Street residence. Officers responded and a suspect was taken into custody and booked.

INFORMATION GIVEN: An officer responded Dec. 5 to a 911 call from a resident was her concerned about the location of her vehicle and her dog. Both had been impounded a day earlier by King County authorities as the result of an arrest. Phone numbers were provided for both King County Animal Control and the tow company.

SHOPLIFTING: Police were called at 12:40 a.m. Dec. 4 to a Roosevelt Avenue location where a shoplifting incident had just occurred. Police contacted the suspects and the stolen merchandise was returned. The business declined to prosecute, but the suspects were ordered to stay away from the establishment.

WELFARE CHECK: Police were called the evening of Dec. 4 to check on the welfare of a female who entered a Myrtle Avenue building, then exited and was found stretched out in the alley in the rain. The woman was evaluated and transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital.

GET TO SCHOOL: A parent contacted the police the morning of Dec. 4 to assist with an uncooperative child who was not wanting to go to school. The issue was settled upon police contact.

THEFT: A burglary report was issued the morning of Dec. 2 by staff at a Roosevelt Avenue business. A cash register was damaged and unidentified items were stolen.

DISORDERLY: A report issued shortly before 9 p.m. Dec. 1 told of an unwanted, intoxicated man sitting in the front yard at a Chinook Avenue address. He was reportedly yelling and waving a bottle. He was taken into custody for disorderly conduct.

TEEN DRINKING: A citizen told police at 10 p.m. Dec. 1 of a party at a Davis Avenue location that involved teens and alcohol. One juvenile was picked up  by a parent; the juvenile who resides at the home was placed in the custody of an adult.
