Last weekend’s sun was perfect for heading to Maris Farms’ final Baby Animals and Blooms Days, which ran on weekends from April 27 through Mother’s Day. The farm always has something to offer kids and families, but the annual springtime event brings out baby animals to pet and fields of flowers to frolic through. Councilmember Reagan Dunn and more than a dozen business owners argued tips and health care expenses should be a part of the new wage. The council passed the ordinance without the amendment.

Only large businesses would have to start paying the new wage in January, but smaller businesses will be stair-stepping until 2030.
