The Snack Shack, the city-owned concession stand at Allan Yorke Park, opened for the summer season last week following extensive renovations.
Operated for the first time this year by All-N-One Café, the stand sells deli sandwiches, ice cream, candy, soda, hot dogs, snow cones, smoothies, lattes and pizza at its location across from Lake Tapps on West Tapps Highway East.
"Everything in here is brand new and completely remodeled," All-N-One Café owner Jeff King said. The cost of the renovations was covered by the city of Bonney Lake. King is contracted to operate the concession.
Formerly the Snack Shack was operated by CJ's Deli of Bonney Lake.
King said the project was helped greatly by city employee Pete Spain, who led the renovation.
"Pete did a top notch job. The city appreciates him and we appreciate him," King said.
All-N-One Café also operates the concession stand at North Tapps Park on the northeast side of the lake. The cafe itself is located at 18215 9th St. E. near the 76 Station on the north end of Lake Tapps.
King has hired three employees to run the stand. Like the North Tapps Park concession and his restaurant, all of the employees are from the area.
The Snack Shack is open from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. daily, depending on weather. The park closes at dusk.
