SNOW DAY! | SLIDESHOW

Residents in Bonney Lake and Sumner woke up Thursday morning to find that despite a beautiful weekend, winter is not done with us yet.

With the Sumner School District closed for the day, kids around the area spent the day building snow men, sledding and getting into snowball fights.

Snow showers are expected to continue through the evening with the possibility of another inch or two in accumulation.

The real issue, however, will be the cold as temperatures are expected to drop through the night to lows in the teens, which could make the morning commute treacherous for some.

City and County road crews are expected to work through the night to keep roads as clear of snow and ice as possible.

Friday is expected to be partly sunny with high temperatures around 33.

We could be in for additional snow flurries Saturday, however, with accumulations of less than an inch.
