Sumner City Council members unanimously approved a budget amendment their regular meeting June 1.

The amendment is to the 2009-10 biennial budget and increases amounts for the arterial street fund, the miscellaneous grant fund and the storm sewer fund.

The arterial street fund is amended to recognize payment of retainage on the Valley Avenue Phase III road improvement project. Further funds were amended to provide a new uniform and equipment for a SWAT officer.

The miscellaneous grant fund was amended for the manufacturing/industrial center study, the Washington Auto Theft Prevention Authority grant and the Edward Byrne Justice Assistance Grant.
