Sumner man dies in single-car crash in Burnett

A GoFundMe is raising money for his fiancee and three kids.

One man was killed in a single car crash in Burnett over the weekend.

The 27-year old man, identified as Kenneth L. Barnes, was reportedly driving north on State Route 165 through the community south of Buckley when his vehicle, a blue 1987 Chevrolet Blazer, crossed into the southbound lane on Aug. 27. The car then left the road and rolled over around 12:20 a.m., according to the Washington State Patrol Trooper Robert Reyer, coming to a rest on its top. It blocked the roadway for more than four hours.

Barnes was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene; it’s unclear at this time if alcohol or drugs were involved, and the cause is still under investigation.

According to a GoFundMe page set up Aug. 28, Barnes left his fiancee and three children, including an infant. You can visit the crowdfunding webpage, which is raising money to support Barnes’ family, at https://tinyurl.com/fj45v8u2.
