Support Dickson | Letter to the Editor

In the printed debate between the candidates for City Council Lauk and Dickson, Lauk attempted to blame Dickson and the current council on hi-density housing developments. Dickson and the council didn't come up with the state Growth Management Act which is a progressive/communist law that forces local governments to abide by rules set by the Washington state unelected unaccountable bureaucrats. So blaming Councilman Dickson for the dense housing everywhere in the state and here is ridiculous.

Darrel Dickson has done a very good job watching over the use of our taxes. The gas pipeline the city owns was a very good example of this. He saw something that didn’t look right in the costs and expenses and brought this to the city’s attention. He received a lot of pushback from the administration the council oversees but did not relent. In the end, Councilmen Dickson was absolutely correct in his stance on the pipeline.

Dickson’s push to privatize the EXPO Center was exactly the correct thing to do because under government operations it was failing.

What does Kimberly Lauk have to offer to qualify her for this position? She does have the backing of her father, state Representative Chris Hurst. Anyone who knows me knows I’m a fan of very few elected officials but Enumclaw’s current City Council has done a very good job during these very hard economic times and Councilman Dickson is a very important part of that.
