Sumner School District students will be dismissed early Thursday, Feb. 14, for a half-day teacher furlough.

As part of the school district’s budget reductions, all teachers have two furlough days during the 2012-2013 school year. A furlough day is a regularly scheduled work day in which staff do not work and are not paid, reducing payroll expenses and matching the 1.9 percent reduction in state funding allocation to the district.

The second half-day furlough of the school year is scheduled for March 29.
