The weekly highlights from the King County Council meetings

Monday, April 9

King County Flood Control District – 1:30 p.m.

The Board of Supervisors is scheduled to discuss and possibly act on:

  • A resolution relating to Federal Emergency Management Agency levee certification and authorizing King County to act on behalf of the King County Flood Control Zone District in connection with the City of Kent’s applications for Federal Emergency Management Agency levee certification.

 

Metropolitan King County Council – 1:30 p.m.

–Councilmembers will present a proclamation declaring April as Autism Awareness Month in King County.

 

Councilmembers are scheduled to discuss and possibly act on:

  • An ordinance authorizing the King County executive to enter into an interlocal agreement with the Washington state Department of Transportation to provide transportation demand management services on an as-requested basis (Ordinance 2012-0047).

 

Tuesday, April 10

Government Accountability, Oversight and Financial Performance Committee – 9:30 a.m.

Committee members are scheduled to discuss and possibly recommend to the full council:

  • An ordinance making willful violation of wage payment requirements a basis for debarment or suspension from consideration for the award of contracts with the county (Ordinance 2011-0493.2)
  • A motion related to the establishment of a veterans internship program in King County, requesting the department of executive services human resources management division, to prepare and submit, for council review and acceptance, a report that evaluates the feasibility and implementation of a veterans internship program in King County (Motion 2012-0122).

 

Law, Justice and Health and Human Services Committee – 1:30 p.m.

The committee will be briefed on:

  • Potential impacts of state legislative session on criminal justice programs in King County (Briefing No. 2012-B0054).

 

Wednesday, April 11

King County Ferry Board Executive Committee – 1:30 p.m.  ***Special meeting location*** Committee will meet in the Southwest Conference Room, 12th Floor, King County Courthouse

Executive Committee members are scheduled to discuss and possibly recommend to the full Board of Supervisors:

  • Resolution relating to marine insurance renewal
  • Resolution relating to Pier 48 Lease

 

Briefing:

  • Management Report

 

Regional Policy Committee – 3:00 p.m.

The committee will be briefed on:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder – Resources and Research in Washington State (Briefing No. 2012-B0062)

 

Thursday, April 12

Transportation, Economy and Environment Committee – 6:00 p.m. ***Special Meeting*** The meeting will be held at the Y at the Carol Edwards Center, 17401 – 133rd Avenue NE, Woodinville, WA

The committee will be briefed on:

  • The 2012 King County Comprehensive Plan (Briefing No. 2012-B0045).

–After the briefing, the committee will take public testimony.
