King County delivered positive results in 2014 in several key areas that are critical to ensuring the region’s prosperity—including public health, transportation, social equity, and the environment.

Highlights included King County Executive Dow Constantine delivering on his pledge to build a new South Park Bridge, working with community partners to cut the number of uninsured county residents nearly in half, directing Metro and Sound Transit to better integrate their services, and bringing together cities, nonprofits, businesses, and tribes to keep Public Health clinics open despite declines in federal and state funding.

“Each of our major accomplishments in 2014 contributes directly to the health and prosperity of our region,” said Executive Constantine. “We again demonstrated that we can bring together elected leaders, cities, labor, nonprofits, businesses, tribes, schools, community partners, and our employees to achieve important, ambitious goals.

“I look forward to continuing our partnerships in 2015, as we work to advance equity and social justice, confront climate change, increase regional mobility, and provide the best starts for kids.”
