The city of Bonney Lake’s annual tree lighting celebration and food drive is scheduled for Saturday at the Public Safety Building.

As always, there will be music and refreshments and an appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus, who arrive each year in an East Pierce Fire and Rescue truck before listening to the wishes of and posing for pictures with local children.

And, of course, the city’s Christmas Tree, located in front of the Public Safety Building, will be officially lit for the season.

The city will also, once again, be collecting donations for the Bonney Lake Food Bank during the event.

The tree lighting is sponsored by the Bonney Lake Kiwanis Club and begins at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Public Safety Building, 18421 Veterans Memorial Dr. E.
