Truck stolen from elderly woman’s driveway on Christmas Eve | BUCKLEY POLICE BLOTTER, Dec. 20-24

LICENSE SUSPENDED: At 2:47 p.m. Dec. 20, an officer stopped a vehicle for a tinted window violation, on state Route 410 intersecting with Park Avenue.The driver was found to be driving while his license was suspended, with an outstanding arrest warrant. The man was issued a notice of infraction, a citation, and taken to Buckley Jail for booking.

POSSESSION: At 11:12 p.m. Dec. 20, a vehicle was stopped for speeding on SR 410 at the lower cemetery. When contacting the driver, the officer smelled marijuana. He asked the driver where the pot was; the passenger handed over two baggies containing green vegetable matter and a glass smoking device. She said it was hers and was placed under arrest for possessing an amount of marijuana less than 40 grams, as well as possession of paraphernalia.

TRESPASS WARNING: On Dec. 21, an officer was dispatched to a business on the 29000 block of SR 410 to trespass an unwanted person from the property. On arrival, the manager confirmed he didn’t want this person at his place of business. A criminal trespass letter was completed and served on the subject, who left without incident. He stated he understood he could not return.

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: On Dec. 21, an officer was dispatched to a vehicle collision on Collins Road at North Elsa Street. A vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign and hit a second vehicle in the passenger side. The at-fault driver was cited for failing to stop at the sign. The second vehicle had to be towed from the scene. No injuries were reported.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE: At 1:53 a.m. Dec. 25, an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding on SR 410 at the Lower Cemetery road. He performed some voluntary sobriety field tests, which he apparently failed. He was arrested for driving under the influence and booked into jail.

TRUCK THEFT: At 10:30 a.m. Dec. 24, a 77-year-old woman reported her 1994 GMC truck stolen from her driveway.
