Two arrested in separate incidents when they don’t match the pictures on their ID | BONNEY LAKE POLICE BLOTTER

PROWL: Police on July 25 took a report of a vehicle prowl at the Walmart parking lot. The victim reported coming out and  noticing her rear spare tire and CB antenna missing. An employee saw a suspicious vehicle in the lot earlier, slowing near the victim car. He also saw a male get out near the victim car, and get back into the vehicle several times. Surveillance video showed the suspect removing the tire and antenna from the victim’s car. On Aug. 15 police were contacted by the registered owner of the suspect vehicle who said her boyfriend had brought her a spare tire, but she did not know of the thefts. The boyfriend later contacted police and admitted the theft and said it was “stupid.” The vehicle’s owner asked to return the items. Police forwarded the case to the Bonney Lake Municipal Court for review and charges of vehicle prowl against the boyfriend.

THE EYES NEVER LIE: Police on patrol Aug. 5 on 198th Avenue East ran a records check of a license plate and discovered the license expired in July. The driver had a trip permit in the back window, but it was difficult to see because of tinting. The driver said he did not have his license on him and gave the officer a name that returned driving with license suspended. He also did not know the last four digits of his social security number. The officer noticed the driver’s record said he had blue eyes while the driver of the vehicle had brown eyes. He was placed in handcuffs and arrested on suspicion of providing false statements. A passenger identified the driver by his real name and he was also found to be driving with a suspended license. He was cited for DWLS and false statements and was transported to Pierce County Jail where he was booked on an outstanding warrant.

INTIMIDATION WITH A BAT: Police on Aug. 15 were dispatched to Target for a report of a threats with a weapon. Police contacted the reporting party who said he was threatened by an unknown suspect with a baseball bat. According to the reporting party, he made a left turn on a green light and a second vehicle pulled in front of him, almost causing a collision. The driver honked his horn and the suspect gave the reporting party the middle finger and slammed on his brakes in an attempt to get the reporting party to hit his vehicle. When the two cars pulled into the lot, the driver of the suspect vehicle approached with a bat and started swinging it. While the driver called 911, the suspect vehicle drove away. Police are investigating.

FIGHT: Police on Aug. 6 were dispatched to Babalouie’s for a report of a fight in which one suspect had “head-butted” the other and then fled the scene. One of the victims had a bloody nose and told police the other person head butted him for no apparent reason while they were outside smoking. A witness confirmed the story and said perhaps the suspect thought they were hitting on his girlfriend. Police located the suspect vehicle and the driver told them the person with the bloody nose had grabbed him by the front of his shirt, prompting the head butt, which he admitted was “a dumb thing to do, but it was just a reaction.” The suspect vehicle’s girlfriend confirmed his story. The suspect was given a citation and trespassed from the bar.

THEFT: Police on Aug. 7 took a report of a pressure washer stolen from a truck parked in the 20800 lock of 98th Street East. Police are investigating.

SHOPLIFT: Police on Aug. 8 were dispatched to Walmart for a report of a shoplifter in custody. Store security watched a woman place items in her purse and then attempt to leave without paying. The total value of the items taken was more than $159. The woman was cited for theft.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY: Police on Aug. 8 took a report or a burglary from a homeowner in the 9400 block of Angeline Road. A kitchen window appears to be the entry point as a screen was removed and an inside table was disturbed. A small pry bar was also located on the property. Numerous items were missing including a laptop, a camera, jewelry, and about $300 in cash. Several power tools and hand tools were also missing from an unattached garage. Police are investigating.

MAIL THEFT: Officers on Aug. 11 were dispatched to the 19400 block of 78th Street East for a report of a theft of mail. The homeowner witnessed an unknown person taking mail out of his box. He provided the police with evidence on the suspect. Police are investigating.

BURGLARY: Police on Aug. 12 responded to a commercial burglary alarm at a business on state Route 410. The back door of the business was not secure when police arrived and there were pry marks on the door frame. Police are investigating.

COUNTERFEIT: Officers on Aug. 15 were dispatched to the Key Bank for a report of a counterfeit $10 bill. Police took the bill as evidence and are investigating.

TIP STEALER: Police on Aug. 15 were dispatched to Happy Pho Time for a report that a white male had entered the store, taken the tip jar and run into the woods. As police entered the woods, several people scattered. Police are investigating.

FORGERY: Officers on Aug. 16 were dispatched to Rite Aid for a report of a fraud in progress. Police were advised of a subject attempting to get a fraudulent prescription filled. Police located the vehicle and contacted the driver, who appeared to be in a hurry to exit the car. A search revealed a wallet in the suspect’s pocket that was not his, but the suspect said he found. The suspect told police he was attempting to get the prescription filled for a friend though a call to the doctor who prescribed the pills said they had no patients by that name. A further search revealed a baggie of crystal meth in the subject’s pocket, though the suspect said “I do not know how that got there.” He was transported to Pierce County Jail and booked on one count of prescription fraud and one count of possession of a controlled substance.

MIND THE GAP: Police on patrol Aug. 17 conducted a records check on a vehicle and found the registered owner to have a suspended license. The officer pulled over the vehicle, but the driver provided a license that was not her. The person on the license had a distinctive gap in her front teeth that the driver did not share. The driver again provided police with a false name. She was arrested for obstructing and provided her real name, which returned an outstanding felony warrant out of Pierce County. She was transported to Pierce County Jail where a search found a baggie containing heroin in her bra. She was booked on her warrant, obstructing and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
