UPDATE:According to the East Pierce firefighters website the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department has reported the incident as a murder-suicide. Reported one patient to Tacoma in critical condition.

• At 10:15 p.m. April 17  East Pierce Fire and Rescue and the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department responded to reports of a shooting in southwest Bonney Lake, 19900 block of Rhododendron Drive. One patient has been transported to a local trauma center with potential life-threatening injuries.

In addition to the patient who was transported to the hospital, East Pierce Acting Battalion Chief Justin Doyle confirms that two people were pronounced dead at the scene.

Pierce County sheriff’s deputies are investigating.
