Involuntary Comment: An Enumclaw woman called Buckley police Aug. 26, reporting a possible domestic incident involving her sister and a man, both of Graham. A short time later, both arrived in Buckley by vehicle. The man was detained due to statements that he was going to kill himself; he was later sent to a nearby hospital on an involuntary committment. It was determined a physical assault had occurred outside Buckley jurisdiction and the Washington State Patrol arrived to handle that portion of the investigation.

Drunk Driver: Shortly after midnight on Aug. 23, an officer observed a vehicle traveling without taillights. The vehicle then swerved and crossed the median toward oncoming traffic. When the vehicle was stopped, the driver showed signs of being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. The Tacoma man voluntarily participated in field sobriety tests and failed all portions of the test. He was arrested for driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license. Due to a prior DUI arrest he was taken to the Pierce County jail.
