Washington Wine Industry Foundation scholarships application due June 1

Applications for the 18:20:36 are due on June 1. WWIF is offering scholarships for students interested in studying and pursuing a career in viticulture or enology for the 2013-2014 academic year.

Applications for the 18:20:36 are due on June 1. WWIF is offering scholarships for students interested in studying and pursuing a career in viticulture or enology for the 2013-2014 academic year. High school seniors, graduates and college students enrolled or planning to enroll in a college or university viticulture and/or enology program are eligible to apply. WWIF distributed over $18,000 in scholarships awards for the 2012-2013 year.

Horse Heaven Hills Wine Growers Scholarship

Two scholarships of $1,500 are awarded to students who are residents of Benton, Yakima or Klickitat counties. The scholarship was created by industry members dedicated to promoting education of grape growing and wine production.

 

Walter J. Clore Scholarship

Established in 1997 by the Washington Association of Wine Grape Growers, scholarships range from $500 – $2,000 in honor of Dr. Clore’s grape research and lifetime achievements in the field of viticulture and enology.

 

S.W. (Bill) Preston Scholarship

Established by Preston Premium Wines and Preston Vineyard, this $3,000 scholarship is awarded to a student studying in Washington.  Bill Preston was a visionary in the wine industry and was repeatedly recognized for his achievements, including being the first recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Wine Grape Growers Association and the first inductee to the Legends of Washington Hall of Fame.
