Winter Storm Watch issued across eastern Puget Sound, including the Plateau

Snow from 4 to 8 inches is possible over Tuesday and Wednesday.

The east Puget Sound Lowlands, including Black Diamond, Buckley, Maple Valley and Snoqualmie could be hit with four to eight inches of snow over the next few days, according to a Winter Storm Watch issued Monday, Nov. 28 by the National Weather Service (NWS).

“Heavy snow (is) possible,” NWS warned, from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday afternoon, and travel may become very difficult.

A winter weather advisory is also in effect for the lower-laying areas in the Puget Sound like Federal Way and Kent, which could see up to three inches of snow accumulation.

Prepare for slippery roads and reduced visibility. Slow down and use caution while driving. Check in on your neighbors and make sure your friends and family who are elderly or vulnerable have what they need.

More snow is possible through the rest of the week as daily high temperatures hover around the high thirties.
